He seeems like a Scott to me, I dunno. Scott or a Drew maybe. Nah, I like Scott. Alex is nice though. Gosh, it makes me want to know now. Especially that little 'married' bit from "Iced". 3 minor characters I want elaborated on in no particular order: David the assistant coroner, Bobby Dawson the ballistics tech, and Detective Vartann. Oh yes.

I like Vartann, he's very handsome. I didn't like the insensitive way he acted in Big Middle. For some reason that seemed out of character for him. He's always been very polite.

I'd like to know a bit more about him, such as if he's married or not.

Well, if I'm not mistaken those lines were originally Greg's. But then Szmanda complained and they changed it, dumped it on Vartann at the last second.

Wish I could find the report where I read that. Until then, take it with a grain of salt. But I'm pretty sure those lines weren't his originally. They were way out of character. I could see Cavaliere saying them, but not Vartann! He's such a gentleman.

I read the same thing, probably in spoilers somewhere. I know they were trying to make a point, but all it did was make Vartann's character look like an insensitive jerk. If Eric refused to do the line, why didn't they just drop it? It really bothers me that the writers let a good character take a hit like that.

Well, I think the writers just needed someone to be insensitive about overweight people. And since the only other character in that scene was Grissom and they can't make Grissom look bad, then they gave them to Vartann.

It sucks. But I take comfort in the fact that the writers were just throwing the lines around and weren't much interested in ooc. We know he's not a jerk, so it's cool.

I'm happy he's coming back next season. I was watching Viva Las Vegas today and he's so soft spoken. I melt every time he opens his mouth.

They could have given the line to some anonymous cop that we'd never see again. Or would that have meant paying speaking role wages to an extra?

Ha ha, and if Cavaliere did have those lines, Nicky would pop in for no reason other than to sock him in the face. (I was so waiting for that to happen in 'Compulsion', oh well...) It would be just as awesome if Vartann caught Cavaliere being a jerk and totally chewed him out for it. Vega would help.

I've never taken to any other detective that has been on Lad Vegas, other than Brass and Vartann.... one is so adorable (Brass) and the other is just .....so....so...man there's no words to decribe him :lol:
