    This was SOOOOOOOO great!!!

I guess this showed just how much Italy doesn't want to go to penalty shoot-outs. :D They are really bad at it. :D

I have to say Iaquinta changed the game, and I have to say, i'm glad Del Piero scored also! Pirlo handed out 2 excellent balls!

Good job, Italy! This showed that every minute counts!

Well done Italy! That was a great match and both teams gave absolutely everything. I feel for Germany, but on balance, I think the Italians were worthy victors. Thank goodness it didn't go to penalties!

My little brother just called me up from Ashland to find out the outcome (no TV there). He wanted to know about the game but I say that he we can talk on his roaming minutes .

Now an honest question: who thought in the beginning of this WC that Italy will be in the finals? I know I haven't. And same goes for France...who knew they will make it this far and be this good in the end of the tournament.

So, we're waiting for a second finalist...I can't wait for tomorrow!!!

    Germay vs Italy

unlucky germany, they just switched off waiting for the penaltys. oh lehmann :(

    great goal by del piero

reallllly bummed germany didnt win this, would have been a GREAT contest
    lehmann vs buffon.

lehmann could have saved ALL of argies pens, in the QF, cos he went the right way. and buffon is great..

but germany do have a young team, see you in 2008.

    Re: Germay vs Italy

    THAT WAS FREAKING BRILLIANT!

The commentator keep going on about how the Italians were waiting for penalties, but I've been telling everyone who will listen that the ONLY way Italy could win this is by normal and extra time. Because Germany is too good in penalties. And what do you know? Italy scored in the last couple of minutes. MAN.

Grosso - who would have guessed? :D But I knew Del Piero would do something, he still have some magic.

Can't believe it, Italy in the final. Wow.

    Re: Germay vs Italy

I think that Italy was better, but Germany had also some great scenes.
Del Piero's goal was pretty. :D

best scene of the game: the shirt exchange. The Italian guys are not bad. sorry, but I'm a girl after all. :p

    Re: Germay vs Italy

Germany was deffinately playing better, running faster and with more power. It also helps them a lot that they were in their country so the support was almost all for them. In the end though they let their guard down waiting out the rest of extra time.

    Re: Germay vs Italy

We forgot to mention the ref - BRILLIANT!!! This guy is excellent!

Slaven Bilic just said on TV how he is really surprised and how this game was so dinamic because of the ref. There's this guy (a former ref, now a profesor) who comments the refs after every game. And he won't stop praising Archundia. It's funny how pleasantly surprised he is. :D
