Well, I think I can see where this is heading: Tony goes to Israel to live happily ever after with Ziva. At least that's how I would see it considering they brought her charachter back (though not physically). This would be a nice happy ending for Tony. The promo still made me sad.

Michael Weatherly's Farewell to NCIS' Tony DiNozzo: 'I Was a Mess'

It was not the ending I had expected. Even though I think it was a great ending, I am still very sad that Ziva died. The idea that she lives happily somewhere in Isreal was comforting. It was a surprising twist to find out Tony and Ziva have a daughter. To me, the thing Tony said ("I am everything to Tali, and I've never been anybody's everything") was a great way to say goodbye. To be fairly honest, I had tears in my eyes. I am looking forward to seeing what's next on NCIS in season 14 and if we are going to see Clayton Reeves again.

I'm with you Rena. Talk about surprising the viewers. I too! was disappointed that Ziva was killed, but
when they brought in Tali and said that she was Ziva's and his daughter, I freaked out.
Wonder if Michael Weatherly's new show will do just as well.

Wilmer Valderrama will be a series regular in season 14. Here's a link to the official press release, which has this character description:
Valderrama will play a once grounded NCIS field agent who accepted a deep cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced. Many agents don’t know he’s still on the job or that he’s even alive. Now, he’s back and his dedication to job and country has left him an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.
(And here's the CSI Files article, which has some related tweets.)

Hmm... I have to admit, I'm kinda surprised by this casting--I assumed they'd add one of the two characters introduced at the end of season 13 (although there's still a chance they could bring back one or both of those characters too, of course). Not sure how I feel about this yet, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I thought they were going to give the British agent a job. I actually liked him. Plus, it would make the cast more DIVERSE. Not Wilmer Valderrama! TPTB pulled this out of their asses...

‘NCIS’ Adds Jennifer Esposito & Duane Henry As Series Regulars

So they are bringing Duane Henry back (yay!), and adding Jennifer Esposito as well. (I'm not surprised they decided not to bring Sarah Clarke back, there seemed to be a very mixed reaction to her character, unfortunately.) That's three new series regulars, including Wilmer, to replace one departing cast member. That's a lot! I'm curious to see how much screentime the newcomers get, and how they work with the rest of the team.

It makes me wonder if the longtime cast members might have wanted a lighter schedule or something, otherwise I can't see the creative reason to add so many new people--as recurring, sure, but not as regulars. (Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, David McCallum and Rocky Carroll all signed two year deals last month, and Mark Harmon re-signed back in February, so it's possible that was part of their negotiations. But that's just me speculating, so don't quote me on that! ;))
