Decent episode. Not edge of your seat at all, but intriguing enough.

Loved Greg having screentime and working with Nick. Great to see Mandy and Archie, I enjoyed the banter throughout the episode.

I thought Catherine's scene talking about picking out the costumes was a nice touch. I would like to see her out in the field a bit more though.

Good to have a case at night!!

I thought it was the boyfriend as soon as we met him, and that he was her pimp... I was wrong, so that was good :p

I like the dynamic between Ray and Hodges, but I don't think it's enough to carry a storyline, I didn't pay much attention to it.

Again, I'm torn. More and more episodes lately are beckoning back to 'old CSI.' Less unbelievable drama and more personal insight. IE; Cath picking out the costumes at Ssm's casino was a nice touch. A good insight into her backstory without all the drama. And giddy Cath is irresistible. ;)

I love Greg and Nick working together. Again, CSI of old. Just following the evidence.
The guys from Chi-town were jerks. But again this is CSI and everyone is a suspect until Brass tells you otherwise.

Brass is on of those rare jewels on the show. He's gritty, he can be nasty but overall he's fantastic character. I hope Paul stays on as long as he can. The show needs him when Marg leaves.

The Hodges/Vartann stuff was sort of pointless. Yeah, I get it, Hodges wants to move on, not be stuck in the lab pining over Wendy. But tell me again, why was Vartann there? If anything being a homicide detective he should have been working the dead hooker case (with or without Catherine). Now don't get me wrong, I did say I wanted to see he and Cath working separately, but Vartann seemed very out of place. I guess it's to prove he's not Mr. Catherine Willows.

Carrot Top was funny. His lines were funny, his whole scene was funny. Sometimes stunt casting works, like Carrot Top and so many others on the show. And sometimes it doesn't. With Carrot Top, it worked. IMO.

A good episode. Not super strong, but it had me with little or no drama (someone getting blown up, trapped, or left out in the desert). Great dialogue especially between Nick and Greg and a more back story on Cath again without her being in peril.

Good episode. I knew Nick would win the bet. I wanted to see a little bit more of the motorcycle story but I was satisfied with what I saw. I really enjoyed the A-case. Nice teamwork. More of Catherine in the field though. at the lookiloos and Ray/Hodges almost having the same shirt!

Can't argue with you about CSI's in peril part, I imagine we'll get that in the season finale and probably before then too, Yay!! and yeah Catherine talking about the past (with no danger nearby) is always nice :)

Yeah that was LF and that commercial also aired during CSI :)

Yes I agree, they should have kept Wendy and turned her into a CSI, and Hodges could stay in the lab, I remember the times when he hated going out into the field plus we hardly have much screentime with the lab rats any more :(

AND the CSI's are always doing their jobs like with ballistics or Greg doing trace or prints

I thought the episode was okay. It did hold my interest, and there were some pretty good lines from the cast and twists in the plot, but it was not all that compelling.
I do agree with those that said it reminded them of the CSI of old. And in that regard I think I realized in this episode how much I missed Warrick. He and Catherine are the ones with Vegas roots; and Warrick, with his sense of the gambling lifestyle, would have been an asset to this episode. Nick and Warrick were a great pair. Greg and Nick are entertaining, but not the same. And, for whatever reason, Nick seems to be doing all the interrogations. They need to mix it up more. I'm glad Greg is getting more screen time, though.
The Ray/Hodges scenes were good. I like Ray as more of a consultant (and is how I wish his role had been written from the beginning). But, I do prefer Hodges in the lab.
Best thing about the episode was Mandy!
Worst thing was no Sara. :(
    I give it a 7.5/10.

This just reminded me of a conversation that Catherine had on the phone with Ecklie as she was coming to a crime scene. (can anyone remember that eppy?) She told him that her budget numbers included a 10% cut across the board & she joked to him that it better come with 10% less crime as well (or something like that). I'm guessing Wendy leaving, Hodges going into the field, and the CSIs doing more of the lab work is supposed to be part of those budget cuts.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed those nearly identical shirts. Was there a sale on at the store that day, so wardrobe thought what the heck? :guffaw:

I didn't see the commercial during CSI, but I could have left the room for a bathroom break or something lol. I thought that was him. I was hoping it wasn't just me being too obsessed with this show LOL.

Nice memory, sharp! "All In" was not one of the show's most memorable episodes, lol...

Hahaha the first thing I noticed were Hodges's and Ray's nearly identical shirts! :)

Ok episode. Not thrilled with anything. I got a few laughs but Hodges out of nowhere motorcycle thrill...? lol I thought he wasn't a fan of the field? I did LOVE Mandy! And Archie! Also Cath mentioning the clothes was nice. Tho I would've liked her in the field considering there was no Sara :( I was hoping we'd catch a glimpse of her because we saw practically everyone else! Can't wait for A Kiss Before Frying!!!

I may be wrong, but when the girls first started didn't Mandy and Wendy both have long hair and then Mandy started sporting a shorter do? I always thought that Mandy cut her hair so that it was easier to tell them apart.

I'm with many of you out there - didn't expect Carrot Top's portrayal last night, but thought he did a decent job. I wonder how many vegas 'regulars' tptb had to talk to before they found someone who'd allow themselves to be shown half naked and tied up like that.

I enjoyed this episode of CSI. Like many others, this had the feel of the CSIS of old. No CSI needing to be saved or personal drama, just a good solid mystery.
As for the main case, revenge is a dish best served cold. The doer "won" at the expense of a life and his freedom.

I do have one issue. I really didn't like Greg's conscending attitude towards Mandy at the beginning of the show when she doubted the body was real (turned out she was right in the end). Seriously, Greg get over yourself! I remember why he is my least favourite character. His attitude at the beginning was so cocky. He needs a huge piece of humble pie. I just wished Mandy had given him a piece of her mind.

I know a lot of you are fans so go ahead and flame me! That scene made me cringe. Just because someone doesn't work in an area doesn't mean they can make an observation about a stupid website.

And if Nick had said it, I would have been just as ticked.

I wouldn't call it condescending. I saw it as usual office antics. At my own work, when such friendly debates take place, there will often be similar 'attacks' in order to gain an advantage in the discussion and to prove ones point. The key is to keep it friendly and seeing as how Mandy herself did not appear perturbed by Greg's verbal jab, it looked like it was something that often happened between them. She can probably dish it out just as well.

And I never really thought of him as being cocky. If he is, that's alright with me. Character flaws make them more realistic. And his cockiness couldn't be any worse than Hodges.
