*"Despicable Me" wasn't such a bad guy after all, it seems, opening at the top of the box office with an estimated $60.1 million. The first 3-D animated movie from Universal Pictures stars Steve Carell as the voice of Gru, a bumbling villian with plans to steal the moon-until three adorable orphan girls enter his life. Jason Siegel, Russell Brand and Julie Andrews are among the star-studded voice cast. This week's other new wide release "PREDATORS" grossed $25.3 million to open at No. 3. A sequel of sorts to the 1987 sci-fi cult classic "Predator", the 20th Century Fox film stars Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne:bolian: as mercenaries stalked by alien hunters in the jungle. Meanwhile last week's juggernaut "The Twilight Saga:Eclipse fell to 2nd place with $33.35 million. The 3rd film in the wildly popular vampire franchise has now made $237 million, in it's first 12 days. It's expects to surpass "The Twilight Saga:New Moon", which grossed $296.6 million whne it came out last year~

TvGuide Online: Craig Ferguson, Wife Expecting Child

The Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson is expecting his first child with wife Megan Wallace.

Ferguson, 48, took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the big news. "Holy crackers! Mrs F is pregnant. How did that happen? ... Oh yeah, I know how. Another Ferguson arrives in 2011. The world trembles."

The late-night host, who married Wallace in December 2008, has a 9-year-old son from a previous marriage.
Reps for Ferguson did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.

TvGuide Online: Report: Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston Engaged

    Kathy Griffin must be heartbroken.

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are engaged, a fact they kept secret from Bristol's mom, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, according to Us Magazine.

"We got engaged two weeks ago," Bristol, 19, says in the article. "It felt right, even though we don't have the approval of our parents."

The couple, who appears on the cover of the magazine with their 18-month-old son Tripp, called off their engagement two weeks after the baby's birth in December 2008. They rekindled their romance three months ago while working out a custody plan, reports Us.

"I really thought we were over," Johnston, 20, says. "So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk."

"When he left that night, we didn't hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: 'I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again' ... I was in shock," Bristol says.

Bristol also wonders how her mother will take the news. "It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she will jump on board," Bristol says.

Sarah Palin has since released a statement to NBC News: "Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what's best for our children. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives."

Calls and emails to Sarah Palin and Johnston's reps were not immediately returned.

    * Leonardo DiCaprio and Christopher Nolan's in "Inception" is anthing but a sleeper as the thriller opened big with $60.4 million and a No. 1 finished at the weekend box office, according to studio estimates Sunday. The Warner Bros. action tale about a team that sneaks into people's dreams is DiCaprio's biggest opening weekend, topping his previous best of $41.1 million for last winter's "Shutter Island". "Inception" falls far short of director Nolan's best though. Nolan is the man who directed the Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight", which opened over the same weekend two years ago, with a record of $158.4 million. Slipping to second place with $32.7 million was the previous weekend's No. 1 movie Steve Carell's animated hit "Despicable Me". The Universal release raised it's 10-day total to $118.4 million. Disney's family adventure "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" was a dud, opening at No.3 with $17.4 million, lifting it's total to $24.5 million, since premiering Wednesday~

The TV star-whose role as sheriff of Mayberry made him an enduring symbol of small-town American values-he tells seniors that "good things are coming", under the health care overhaul, including free preventive checkups and lower cost prescriptions for Medicare recipients. Polls show that seniors are more skeptical of the health care law than younger peole because Medicare cuts provide much of the financing to expand coverage for the uninsured~
