There's also a bit of blue from the background on Sheldon's labcoat. 18 Too dark and Sheldon has yellow teeth in this icon Best 10 03 Edit: I'm sorry! I got the numbers wrong. Next to icon 11 on the right it says '12' but that icon is in the next row. I made the same mistake with icon 15, which I thought was 16. I feel so stupid! I'm glad I checked my post. I've corrected the numbers.

Least: 11 - The colouring is somewhat odd, doesn't really work with the icon, seems to be red where there shouldn't be? 16 - Looks like very little has been done to the icon. 08 - Seems to be somewhat oversharpened. Best: 04 - Altogether fantastic icon, nice theme. 15 - Nice effect, text is very fitting, looks great.

Least 08 - oversharpened 11 - The coloring looks weird; the red of the backround takes the focus away from Hawkes. 15 - The text overpowers the icon, therefore taking the focus away from the subject. Best 03 - I like the concept. Well done 19 - The coloring is nice and the icon has a beautiful atmosphere.

Least: 02 - The cut doesn't look good, it seems to sharp around the edges. 15 - The text is too big and overpowers the icon. 13 - The backround looks too bright and the right upper half of the icon looks kinda empty... a different crop of the pic could have helped with that. Best: 04 - I just love it... it's very well done 03 - A great icon, everyting fits together very well

I keep thinking that I can't vote in this, but I guess since I'm not running this round, I can :lol: Least: 02 - I love the use of texture and the general feel of the icon, but Hawkes is too oversharpened. 15 - Also oversharpened 01 - I understand what you were trying to do with the colouring on this icon, but somehow it doesn't work. I'm not sure if I can explain it properly, it's just... too much, maybe? Or not enough? I'm not quite sure Best: 19 - Pretty 03 - Love the contrast between the top and bottom. Well done!
Re: Talk LIMS #8: Challenge 3 - Voting! Least 2. Hawkes face is too sharp and the texture cutout is too obvious. 18. The colouring is off, parts of Hawkes face look sunburnt, it's too red. 8. The icon is too sharp. Best 7. Fantastic crop and beautiful colouring, the text is perfectly placed. 10. I love the frame and the reflected text, the colouring is fabulous.

LQ 15- That text is extremely loud and so contrasting to the overall softness of the rest of the image that it steals all focus from the graphic content of the icon. 4- A nice shot a merging a couple of images but a city scape is an awfully busy background to layer with someone's face, resulting in kind of a cluttered image. The tiny text also isn't really lending anything to the icon in style or placement, especially with such a busy image already. 11- Not every image translates well to a black and white, especially not without level and contrast correction, resulting in a rather greyed out subject. BQ 2 - A little less sharpening would help, but whether or not it was, the cutout style looks intentional. The text is handled pretty nicely, so it's not stealing any focus and the layering effects make Sheldon's face stand out nicely as a focal point. Nice job. 19 - The crop and contrast is the best thing about this one but think it might be ever stronger without the text.
