Ok maybe this is a silly question, but what exactly does it mean to "ship"? I understand the concept of pairing people you think should be together, are together, etc etc... But what does it actually mean??
(sorry if i sound like a goof for not knowing :D)

Hi Psykogrl! The term "ship" is drawn from the word "relationship." So if you support a certain relationship (like I support Nick/Greg), then you are "shipping" that couple. You might read or write fanfic for the couple or just like to squee about their scenes together. There are many ways to ship.

Yes, me again. This time asking something little sad. Some time ago I opened an Aikes(Aiden & Hawkes)-thread. Unfortu-
    nately we still miss visitors.
Now I´d like to try out another ship-idea. Therefore I´d like to know if there is a possibility to close too lonely threads?

    Re: Shipper's Central Questions Thread

Detective_Burn, we don't close threads just because they dont get a lot of traffic. Sadly, not all ships are wildly popular, but that doesn't mean that someone wont come along and find that it is their cup of tea and start posting.

That's why lament and I have started the "Featured Ship of the Week" feature in Shipper Central - so that less travelled ships can get their day in the sun and maybe pick up a couple of new shippers along the way.

It's not meant to be a competition. Our goal is to eventually work our way around to most of the lesser ships. If there's a ship you feel we've missed, you can PM us, but ultimately, we'll decide what ships to put up.

I am just wondering if anyone knows if there are any percentage numbers for each shipper group? Which group has the largest number of members that kind of thing? Thanks.

I don't know that there are accurate figures for that anywhere, eraf. The nearest we have here is Pollsville which has links to all manner of polls - Favorite Ship, Favorite Slash Ship (from all three CSIs), etc

    Re: Shipper's Central Questions Thread

Would it be possible to do another Favourite Ship tournament like we did last year? However, I know a lot of chaos ensued the last time this occured, and the last thing I want is a ship war, so strict rules would be needed. I thought it best to consult you Mods before I did anything.

    Re: Shipper's Central Questions Thread

lament and I have discussed it, and we don't think it's a good idea to have another Tournament. For a start, it really hasn't been all that long since the last one. And besides, if you want to vote for your various favorite ships, Caderyn set up "Pollsville", with a great variety of polls for shippers to vote in.

In a nut-shell, we don't think its necessary to run another Tournament right now.

    Pollsville can be found Here
