As someone who has spent far too much time in hospitals, I can attest to very mixed feelings about the doctors and staff who treat you. There's immense gratitude, yes, but there is also a draining, chafing resentment that nobody will let you *do* anything, and it's embarrassing to have total strangers seeing you exposed and at your weakest.

It's not fun for anyone, but for someone like Flack, who is used to being strong and in charge, it's got to be hellish, especially if he needed help bathing and using the toilet. You generally don't want to get chatty with someone who just watched you take a dump into a plastic bowl.

La Guera, thanks for the good insight into the mixed emotions of a hospital stay. And you're very right, someone like Flack, normally a very active man who is more than capable of doing for himself, might especially have a difficult time with those feelings of vulnerability.

    Indeed I did.

This discussion makes me wonder how extensive his injuries were. I have been operating under the assumption that there was moderate intestinal damage, but he's never mentioned digestive problems since the injury, and besides department-mandated psych evals, what rehab can you do for a gutted tummy? An Edy's Chocolate Fudge lavage?

I'd imagine the rehab was to get his muscles back in shape after laying for so long...plus probably to help his abdominal muscles recover from being ripped full of shrapnel...that'd really weaken them. no idea about the digestive side though.

    Has anyone seen this?

    http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/id/3584181

It was posted in another thread here, but I wanted to talk about it here to be safe. Anyways, I'm wondering if this case will take us back to the Stella issue... or if Lindsay's past has something to do with it, back to her issue.

At least we get Season 2 closure before 2006 is out!!

Sooooooo unimpressed at a February start though - but I guess it will fly by - I can't believe we're on November as it is - WHERE HAS THIS YEAR GONE?

You know what would kill me? If Channel 5 decided to axe CSI:NY due to poor ratings that would end me
