Who can tell me how to be a CSI?

What exactly do you want to do? If you simply want to analyse a crime scene (what CSIs really do) and that's it, then you'll mostly need field training. It's different if you want to be a lab technician or if you want to direct a crime lab

Episode #611: 'Guerillas in the Mist' **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Re: Episode #611: 'Guerillas in the Mist' **CONTAINS SPOILER Super H strikes again!!! Also, don't you think Horatio Caine is getting a bit loose on the trigger ... I mean he didn't even give a warning to the other two guys ... and he's been killing more and more people lately ... I'm not sure...

    question

I'm not sure what you mean by this ... sorry But I'll try to give you a general answer : anywhere that has evidence ( case folders, murder scene cars ...) will be secure, in order to prevent any breach of security. So yes, if that's what you meant, they will have secrurity cameras, but then...

For a project, I used that test and it did react with baryum it turned a dark red. However the diluted hydrochloric acid is specific to lead.

    Weird Question!

About guns, in real life, CSI ( or their various counterparts in EUrope) aren't sworn police officers, I mean, they are not allowed to arrest people, and don't have the right to carry a gun either ...

locard seems good for an introduction ... if you want something that explains forensics clearly you can try Forensics for dummies, it's really good

    correct forensics

you know the way they spray something to see if they've got gsr on it? and if yes it turns purple, well that's a good example of something being accurate (the sodium rhodizonate test) but exagerated : normally it's a mixture of blue and purple ( for baryum and lead) and you would have to have...

    Forensics Questions

Re: the future of CSI In France, you are three different things a "CSI", who processes evidence (dusts prints , ....), a techinician who analyses everything, and an engineer, who supervises all that. They're all sworn officers ( in the sens that they get a flashy badge) but they can't wear guns...

    Forensics Questions

Re: fibers/ washing the mouth Well, maybe in a not-so-distant future, you'll get (ok, maybe not all) but a lot more resources. I mean, people are getting very interested in forensics (all the shows, the "real CSIs" shows ...) mean that forensics is getting a lot more publicity, and since the...

    CSI 'does not reflect forensics'

If the show gets you interested in forensic science, and you do some extra research, then you'll find out straight away that it's not the real thing ... People who do believe it's dead accurate are people who watch the show like any other police show. But, one thing that is true (which I know...

    Forensics Questions

Re: fibers/ washing the mouth where I live in England (it's the biggest police force outside city forces), the analysis are done in the lab which means that it tends to be possible to follow an investigation quite easily, even though you don't take part in it any more. But a lot of technicians...
