Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
Now that it's said, yeah, he should have had an advocate in there.
I wonder if the comment about the 11yr old getting life w/out parole is real or not. I didn't notice about Sara...interesting, though. What did DB say about his inlaws? I must have been on my way upstairs when he said it, I don't recall that part.

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
I liked this episode! I don't watch Miami so I wouldn't know, but aside from some cliche confusing parts I really enjoyed it.
Great screen time. Except for Hodges and underuse of Greg. Nick's comment had me laughing though it could be seen as out of character. Finn is growing on me! I actually laughed when she bickered about him when she was finding the bullet over the phone call. DB was saying how his inlaws are leaving but that they can grab a bite before the airport. I agree they need to mention some of the other character's lives... Omg right away I felt an eerie vibe when Sara was interrogating the mom! Glad I wasn't the only one. Overall I thought this episode was great. Will watch again.

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
I didn't have to, but I edited my original post to try to tone down the words a bit. I'm overemotional this week (can't help it, wacky hormones) and may have gone a little overboard with my words. Even though I shouldn't have to justify my opinions. Nevertheless, I've edited the post.

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
I will say in regards to it being like Triple Threat..after a while,it's almost impossible to not have a storyline that will look like one from one of the other CSI's or other crime shows.
I've seen the twins with the same DNA storyline on Law & Order SVU as well. |

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
Plus the ending..I'm sorry but there is no way on earth Avery should be getting grilled without a lawyer in there with him. No matter how intelligent he is,he's still a twelve year old and you can see he clearly doesn't realize how much trouble he's in. It should be noted in Nevada that eight is the youngest age a child can be charged with murder,so they weren't lying to him in that regard. |

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
By the way, I too noticed the thing about Sara with the mother of the kids.

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
As for Sara, I suspect she longs for kids herself, hence why she reacted the way she did. |

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
And I have to add that I felt really sorry for Archie having to look for the same face so many times LOL. Poor guy.

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
Sorry writers, that was appalling.
The first half an hour was just cliché after cliché. For instance, man leaves slot machine, woman goes on slots and wins jackpot on first turn. Sara hears someone entering nightclub, draws gun, oh wait it's just the cops. Despite the casino being in a lockdown the killer conveniently manages to escape through an unlocked stairway. I lost count the number of times I rolled my eyes during that opening sequence. ![]() The characters seemed off the whole way through. I agree with GNRF that Nick's "how're you doin" was really OOC, the real Nick would have gotten a bit flustered and instantly apologised to the girl for stumbling in on her in her undies. Another moment was when that same girl asked Morgan why she was taking the sheets and Morgan responded something of the lines of "why do you think?" That again felt really obnoxious and OOC for her. Did anyone else get really irked by Finn's "I hate it when you do that" with DB on the phone? I know it was a shout out to the Grissom/Catherine dynamic of old but it felt really flat and out of place. It seemed like the writers were trying to make the two into Grissom/Cath v2.0 instead of developing them as independent characters. The lack of Greg both surprised and annoyed me considering it was mainly written around DNA. Hodges being missing was really noticeable too but other than that I thought the screentime was pretty well balanced throughout the episode. I must admit I didn't see the twist with the kid coming and I could buy that the kid killed the twin for killing his father, but when they revealed that he was actually the mastermind of the whole lot I thought that was pretty ridiculous more than anything. It's a shame that they wasted a good subject matter (identical twins / abandoned embryos) on this episode. I've got to admit, as soon as they said about making the perfect defence I instantly thought we were going to get a poorer version of "Tell-Tale Hearts" from earlier this season. Relieved they didn't go down that route. I don't actually have a lot of positive things to say about this episode apart from the balanced screentime. Archie got some good time at least, even if most of his scenes comprised of "Have you found the guy?" "No." Nice to see Mandy and Henry in good capacity. I notice they felt pretty adament about pairing up Nick/Morgan, Finn/DB and Sara/Brass pretty much the whole way through too. Yeah, so overall. Pretty crappy episode I have to say. Easily the worst one of the season so far and one I probably won't bother watching again. Thankfully the next two episodes look more promising at least, and we can go back to crime scene evaluating not police-work. My rating: 5.5/10 (poor) |

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
Crumbs and GNRFAN, you both pretty much said everything I would have said about this episode. I didn't care for it. I was falling asleep half way through it and was glad when it was finally over.

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
I actually liked the episode. Haven't seen Miami in years so I wouldn't think of that but you will frequently find similar types of storylines among not only the 3 CSI's but also with the same type of shows (NCIS, Criminal Minds and so on). I did think of Bloodlines tho (season 4 season finale).
Have to admit that I had at least 4 as soon as they said 'multiples'. I just wasn't guessing the kid as being number 4. Wasn't thinking there would be that big an age difference between him and the other 3. Liked that there was some action in it. Was glad to see Nick taking part in it as I was a little worried about George's back after Malice in Wonderland (he was too still and sitting too much). Also had a bit of science that was nice to see. Antibody profiling hasn't been done on this CSI before so that was something new. I was glad for that Michael Daley intervew earlier this week or I would have been a little lost on why they couldn't do the DNA and didn't quite understand Julie & DB's discussion about it. ![]() I was extremely glad to see Julie working side-by-side with Henry. After her first episode I was a little worried about Greg becoming her personal labrat and he's worked too hard at being a CSI for that. As a fan of Archie and Mandy I was glad to see them. Felt a little sorry for Archie being in front of those screens for so long. I think I realized it was the kid from the look on his and Nick's faces. ![]() Susan

Re: "Split Decisions" Discussion **SPOILERS**
I'll give it a high B-low A, I really liked this episode, it was a bit contrived, but I liked the character interactions, and I think Elisabeth Shue is really starting to fit in, I did miss Eric and Wallace though.

Ninja0980, just a reminder about not posting back to back. You can use the "multi-quote" feature to respond to more than one post in a post, or you can use the edit feature to add more content after you've posted. Thanks!
![]() Have to say this is the first time in many episodes that I've kept my attention on the show instead of getting online or getting up to do something. I liked how it kept changing throughout and kept you guessing. Henry and Mandy were good together, especially when they were reporting their findings to DB. Interesting twist with the kid being a twin yet younger. Thought that was kind of neat.

I honestly didn't find Nick's comment OOC. Does anyone remember "The Panty Sniffer"?
