  • CSI: Crime Scene Investigation executive producer Naren Shankar is an "aspiring vegetarian" who hasn't had turkey for several years, according to his wife Cheri. The pair dined at the vegan restaurant Madeleine Bistro in the San Fernando Valley on Thanksgiving. In the past, Cheri would make her husband watch a video from a turkey processing plant before he ate the traditional bird for Thanksgiving. "I was really pushing him -- he was eating meat, everything," Shankar said. "I felt like, 'What kind of animal advocate am I if I can't get my husband to be a vegetarian?' Then one day he said, 'Guess what, honey? I'm off pork and beef.'"

The original article is from the LA Times.

  • Purdue University held a viewing party for the latest episode of CSI: Miami, "Power Trip", which featured technology developed by Professor R Graham Cooks. "The College of Science wants to support the researchers involved and share in the excitement as this technology makes its prime-time debut," said interim dean Jonathan Habor. "CSI: Miami engages a broad audience and presents science as a powerful tool to solve mysteries. We hope it inspires future Purdue students to pursue an education and career in science, technology or forensics."

  • The CSI: New York season three episode "What Schemes May Come" featured DNA Art, custom portraits made using a person's unique genetic information. The company behind DNA Art has unveiled a smaller, more affordable version called a DNA Mini Portrait in time for the holidays. (Source: PR Web)

  • Economic troubles lead TV viewers to choose more gritty fare like the CSI series over reality TV and shows about extremely wealthy characters, according to Paul Kagan of the media research firm PK. "During a time of great problems, people like to see problems solved," Kagan told Reuters. "That's why I think these crime mystery programs are so popular and will continue to be popular. Everything is always solved by the end of the hour."

  • Spoiler alert!

According to Ausiello, Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter) will have a "brush with death" in a February episode of Miami.

Me too! That's awesome, I know it's probably really geeky but I think they are cool. And the company do free shipping to the UK, so I'm seriously tempted to get one of me and one of MrElsie (I'm going to send him a link to the company and see what his reaction is).

Well you could go for a mirror or some jewellery: http://www.designagifts.co.uk

There are quite a lot of companies that do similar things, I've always wondered who buys such things but I guess now I know - you guys!

Reading what it says from the article, it sounds like Delko is involved, too...
Sounds like fun, but Eric's already had a brush of death with Speedle, Marisol, and almost himself. He was also the one driving and yelling at Ryan not to pull the nail out of his eye.
Calleigh hasn't had much action, beside the submerging of her hummer, her fatal car shooting into the store, and the infamous shooting of her boyfriend a few years ago.

A brush of death is what keeps us views knowing that they are human as well. With Grissom [Peterson] probably have already recorded his last episode as a regular already, and the lack of cases being solved this season (Lady Heather and earlier the hypnotist, and the case Grissom regrets solving, Chinatown-Vegas) it shows us views that they are real people, who all, beside Horatio, can't get over deaths or shootings. Grissom never pulled a gun in his life other than All For Our Country, I believe. Arggghhh, off-topic. Anyways, death and accidents show everyone is human. Lindsay's pregnancy, too, and people dealing with babies as well as jobs show us that they pay the bills and do the job. It's why I stick to these shows rather than watching the snotty rich people.
