Season Eight DVD Details Revealed

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation provides fans with a few bonuses.

In July, details were revealed about the DVDs for CSI's eighth season. The set will be released on October 14, approximately one week after the ninth season premieres on CBS. The image on the back of the box set can be seen here, as well as information about special features.

As previously reported, the crossover episode of Without a Trace is included in addition to the 17 episodes of CSI aired during the strike-shortened season. The two audio commentaries featured in the set will be for "Cockroaches" and "You Kill Me". Fans will also be able to watch deleted scenes on the DVDs.

There are six featurettes included with season eight. One is titled "So Long, Sara Sidle", referring to Jorja Fox's character, who left the crime lab midway through the season. Another featurette is "William Friedkin: A Different Take". Friedkin is famous for directing such movies as The Exorcist and To Live and Die in L.A., which starred CSI's William Petersen (Gil Grissom). He came to CSI to direct "Cockroaches", one of the two episodes with audio commentary provided on the DVD set. The other featurettes are called "While the Cast's Away, the Rats Will Play", "What Happened in Vegas…", "Shot in the Dark" and "TOD: A Bug's Life".

TV Shows on DVD provided the information and the image of the DVD set's back cover. The eighth season of CSI can be pre-ordered from Amazon.com.

only two audio commentaries? there's usually at least 5 i was looking forward to that..
i'm sure the deleted scene is just referring to the deleted scene from Grissoms Divine Comedy.

i guess we'll have to wait until October 14! everything is so late this year, stupid political debates Canada can't even vote! lol

I know. Especially with the price of it, ($80.00 US?!?!) We're not getting all that much for our money. It's not too hard to have more commentaries and special features, is it? Especially when you consider the packaging for the DVD's that have been released by CBS so far, they're cheap and Chintzy, IMO.

I think they should have commentaries on "Dead Doll," "Goodbye and Good Luck" and the WoaT crossovers, just because they're major episodes. One on "For Gedda" would have been nice, too....What, was it too hard to get WP and Jorja to to it?

I am definitely not pleased.

I've seen it online for pre-order...not sure if I'm allowed to name the site but it's a big site where you can buy books and cds and such. $58.99 I'm sure it will show up in other stores and online for that or less.

BUT, that's what I paid for Season 7 which had a lot more with it, including more episodes. Geeze, if it's going to be a short season at least give us more extras. And by that I don't mean an episode of WAT.

I AGREE. especially because they have a commentary on "Living Doll" so i just always thought there would be one on "Dead Doll" i thought for sure that "Goodbye and Good Luck" would have one. and WP has never done an audio commentary on CSI, in eight seasons, is it really that hard? and he's basically the lead in the show
yeeea and on www.amazon.com you can pre-order it for $58.99 US but for what we're getting that's still way too much IMO
