The Submissions Are In
Ladies and gentleman, for your consideration... The episode submissions for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards are in. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has submitted the season eight premiere, "Dead Doll", and the CSI half of the crossover with Without a Trace, "Who and What", for consideration. CSI: Miami submitted the two-parter, "All In" and "Ambush". "Right Next Door" was the episode submitted for CSI: New York. The franchise also made submissions for the acting categories. All three series offered their leading men for consideration. William Petersen (Gil Grissom) was submitted for "Dead Doll", David Caruso (Horatio Caine) for "All In" and Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) for "The Thing About Heroes". Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and Emily Procter (Calleigh Duquesne) were submitted in the lead actress category for "A Thousand Days on Earth" and "All In", respectively. In the supporting actor category, CSI submitted Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown, "For Gedda"), Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass, "Grissom's Divine Comedy", Robert David Hall (Dr Al Robbins, "The Theory of Everything"), Wallace Langham (David Hodges, "You Kill Me") and Eric Szmanda (Greg Sanders, "The Theory of Everything"). George Eads (Nick Stokes) is also listed, but there is no episode specified. In the same category, Miami offered Jonathan Togo (Ryan Wolfe, "Cyber-lebrity"), and New York offered both Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer, "Child's Play") and AJ Buckley (Adam Ross, "Down the Rabbit Hole") for consideration. CSI was the only series to offer a submission for the supporting actress category, submitting Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) for "Goodbye and Good Luck", her final episode before leaving the show. In the guest actor and actress categories, CSI submitted Dennis Christopher ("Lying Down with Dogs"), Anthony LaPaglia ("Who and What"), Harold Perrineau ("Go to Hell") and Bonnie Bedelia ("Grissom's Divine Comedy"). Peter James Smith ("To Kill a Predator") and Elizabeth Berkley ("Ambush") were submitted for Miami. CSI: NY didn't submit any actors or actresses in the guest star categories. None of the series submitted episodes for directing or writing. The current issue of the Emmy Magazine contains a fold-out page for the three CSI series. Each of the shows has its own panel with the words "For your consideration" across the top. Tina Fey is on the cover of the magazine, which is issue #3 for 2008. You can visit The Green Campaign to view the episodes submitted for the franchise ("Dead Doll", "Who and What", "Ambush", "All In" and "Right Next Door"). Please remember that, although these actors and episodes have been submitted for consideration, this does not guarantee that they will be nominated for the awards. The original list of submitted episodes for the actors and actresses is from The Envelope. Many thanks to Shane for the information and the links.

Re: The Submissions Are In
I'm surprised that Jorja got a submission, yet Melina didn't for NY. I'm also shocked Adam Rodriguez didn't get one for Miami.

Re: The Submissions Are In
On the fandom front, it seems that the Emmy nominations pimp list for CSI:NY has come out. Predictably, Gary and Carmine were listed, and deservedly so, though to be blunt, I suspect that Gary was nominated more for his name than his performance. And Carmine, well, I can't deny that he knows how to turn it on.
I was surprised by the omission of Melina Kanakaredes, though. She's consistently wonderful as Stella, and she had some great moments this season, most notably in "Right Next Door" and "Taxi". She should have been submitted for consideration.
And why the hell wasn't Carmine Argenzziano submitted for his role in "Admissions"? If A.J. Buckley, who by the by, has been touted as a regular for a fill season by the PTB, yet never credited as such, can be submitted for the festering dungpile known as "The Shameless, Trendy, Tie-in That Sucked So Much Ass That The NY Lungs Were Showing" AKA "Down the Rabbit Hole", then Carmine AG should've been listed for his incredible performance as Gerrard.
I'm disappointed that Eddie got no love for "All in the Family," but not surprised. While Flack certainly shone as a friend indeed to a friend in need, that was Danny's and Riki's episode. Besides, CBS and NY probably decided to back the horse with greater star power and a larger body of work throughout the season, and that's Carmine. Eddie and Flack are talented and criminally underused in the role. Hopefully, S5 will remedy that, and Eddie will finally get a nod; maybe "Veritas" will do the trick.
And let's not discuss Hawkes, who, bless him, is the Professor Binns of NY, unappreciated and all but forgotten.
At least no one was stupid enough to put Anna Belknap's hat in the ring. If they had, I would've curled up in the shower with a bottle of Beam and drunk myself into an incontinent stupor.

Indeed, she was an interesting character, gosh there have been so many great guests, Faye Dunnaway, Steve Lawrence, Roger Daltry [I thought he'd get a Emmy nod] and so many more, it's so great that so many of our cast is up, also that Anthony LaPaglia was in the mix, anazing ep, he was great , good selection, and so thrilled that our girl Jorja/Sara was in the mix as well, she so deserves a nod for her amazing performance

Re: The Submissions Are In
I'm not sure why George wasn't named in an episode! He was brilliant in "Laying Down With The Dogs".
Unless they just think he shined in every episode..which he does..
Alas, CSI won't get nominated anyways..not enough conjugal relations for the Emmy people!

I'm so happy that Emily was submitted for consideration for an Emmy nomination. She has done a phenomenal job portraying Calleigh is CSI: Miami and her performance in "All In" was beyond excellent. I'm hoping she gets the nomination, but if she doesn't, the fans know how hard she's worked and that she deserves so much more.
