Mac's Label Pin

Hi all

I'm a newbie and need an answer to a question that's been bugging me for a long time.

I've searched all over cyberspace trying to find out what kind of pin Mac wears on the left lapel of his suit jacket.

I figured if anyone would know it would be you guys.

Thanking you!

I've always wondered that too. I think it might be some sort of pin that detectives wear. Thats just my guess.

Re: Mac's Label Pin

A lot of characters in later seasons of NYPD Blue wore them too they were explained as such:

"they're "DB" (for "Detective Bureau") pins, given out by the Chief of Detectives."

And if you look closely at Mac's like this close up image:

The D is more clearly visible than the B, but thats definitely the pin. I can't find an actual photo of these pins but this is essentially what they look like:

Thats a great piece of information.
I'd always thought that it was maybe something that he had got whilst he was in the marines.

roximonoxide,
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I've been wanting to know what was on that pin and what it stood for. Thank you so much for clearing up my confusion.
I wish they sold replicas of it at cbs.com or amazon.com.
I love that pin. I want one.

Huh. Hadn't noticed this thread before.

I thought it would be something like that, either that or a Marine pin of some sort.

Thanks for the images, and to whoever replied bringing this up the list again.

Thanks for the information

Flack said he was in Detective Bureau for 7 years in 'the triangle', right? I wonder if he has same one too.
