Why do the CSI franchises villify left handed people

 After finally watching Dude Where's the Groom on CSI Miami here in the UK, yet again it is left handedness which point them to the bad guy. I have seen this in other shows, including CSI Miami where evidence shows the bad guy is left handed. It never seems to be the case that a...

    CSI: New York--'Greater Good'

Were the shots of the other Ghost Rider bikes genuine memorials?

    CSI: NY--'Communication Breakdown'

What I am surprised about is no body picked up the "NYPD Blue" comment by flack It is cute, because CSI NY was introduced in an episode of CSI Miami, and they have had two cross over episodes. Now the star of CSI Miami is David Caruso (Horatio Cain) who starred in the TV series NYPD Blue...

Processing of victims of sexual assaults

I have been going through my old postings, and came across this one. I was looking at my hypothetical variant of what happened in the Ogborn case and this so called CSI effect. I later used my hypothetical scenario for a story I did elsewhere, where an old lady blocked people from helping a...

    CSI: New York--'Admissions'

I was just looking through my old posts, not sure if I go a reply to my general point.

    The CSI Effect

The alternative CSI effect I have heard that across the pond that juries are believing that forensics deliver more than they actually do in terms of certainties, because of the CSI show. Could this also cause a drop in the crime rate if people believe from the show that they will always get...

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation--'One To Go'

For some reason I thought Grissom was going to get "done in" as he was going through the jungle.

    CSI: New York--'Admissions'

I was more thinking along general lines rather than this case in particular. I mean if I was defence attorney and one of the pieces of evidence against my client was an image captured on a mobile phone, I would demand to see the actual mobile phone with the image still on it or I would point out...

    CSI: New York--'Admissions'

I always thought they had to be kept in evidence lock up for the trial, so defence can look at them and examine them to see if the downloaded images were actually on the camera phone, and even after that, should there be a conviction for appeal processes, as they are evidence.

    CSI: New York--'Admissions'

On a completely spurious point - all those phones collected, would they ever be returned or are they confiscated for good to be permanently held in the evidence locker? I would assume with things like appeals, they never get returned and it's just tough luck on the person they were collected...

    CSI: New York--'Right Next Door'

Would Stella have been allowed to be involved in an investigation involved in the torching of her own building? Conflict of interest anyone? As for the theme of finding missing children, very reminiscent of two cases we have in the UK, one child still missing and one that was found alive...

Processing of victims of sexual assaults

My apologies, I thought that because the clip was from ABC News Primetime which had been broadcast in the US, and that they had blurred out parts of the video to make it suitable for the original broadcast it would be safe. I have now got a link to the whole programme which details of how they...

Processing of victims of sexual assaults

I forgot earlier to thank you for your answers, sorry. Looking at this case again and turning it around as it were, in light of what KenGoddard says, which is obviously right and I would have to agree with, but suppose after they realised it was a hoax and called the police, someone who has...

Processing of victims of sexual assaults

In this case would the CSI be happy to use the security tape or would they have needed to have processed the victim as well (Belt and Braces approach to quote a British expression)
