I have to agree with your first theory! But indeed why let sharova live... Maybe they do (the russian mob) want sharova to do something for them and they've taken Eric for insurrance. Of course he said he didn't remember what happened... That could be the opening for Calleigh to interrogate him...

Yes the trust issue bothered me too. In the beginning I wasn't really paying attention to it until she confronted him with the car being found. I think she was just affraid Eric would get hurt. I know she still trusts him otherwise it would mean the end of their relationship. She just fears...
