Re: 'Dissolved', 'Grounds For Deception', 'All In' & 'Pay Up' Official
Four new episodes of CSI in one week is rather unprecedented. I wonder why NY's finale was shifted to Thursday unless they wanted to maintain the tradition of Miami always airing the last finale.
I loved that Greg and Riley got to use Hodges as a test dummy. Four seasons back, I remember Grissom and Sara used Greg in a similar capacity (when the larger woman squeezed her man to death in bed; can't recall the episode name). It just shows Greg doesn't have to do these kind of tests anymore.
To be fair, it was Super Dave clowning around in the morgue. Doc Robbins just put a stop to it.
And I'm surprised that no one remembers that Bradley Thompson and David Weddle got their starts on Star Trek DS9 (thus all three writers on this episode have Star Trek backgrounds).
A little trivia but all three credited writers on this episode were Star Trek writers (Naren Shankar on TNG, Weddle and Thompson on DS9), so the Trek references weren't big surprises. The Ronald Moore cameo, however, was the biggest surprise of the episode (incidentally I have a feeling Star...
First of all, I was so happy to see Charisma Carpenter make a guest appearance (she hasn't made many TV appearances since Angel).
Anyway getting back to the episode, while Catherine hasn't done much (on screen) as team leader, I do notice and like that Nick is leading a lot of the cases this...
I can't help but wonder if this episode came up a couple minutes short in the editing booth. The flashbacks seemed to pad out the length of the episode especially since we see one flashback (the suicide) twice.
I think Katherine McPhee's appearance worked but it may have to do with the fact...
A 200th episode in my opinion should either showcase the strengths of the show while being retrospective or be retrospective and funny. Stargate SG-1 had a wonderful 200th episode because the writers decided to look back on the series and gently make fun of those previous 199 shows (I sort of...
The funny thing is the shiny gadgets were one aspect of CSI that got me hooked in the first place. When CSI debuted, the fancy gadgets were really fascinating and they were quite rare for cop shows at the time. And comparing CSI to its spin-offs, Miami and NY seem to take the technology to a...
I'm glad the writers decided to delete Ray's serial killer gene plotline. The way Morpheus (sorry, but Fishburne will always be Morpheus to me) portrays the character now just feels right.
Though it is certainly a plot hole in that the fake FBI agents aren't discovered sooner, it's possible the fake agents were convincing enough that Brass might have delayed sending a report until the case was concluded (Brass might also have believed the fake agents would fill out a report)...
Is it me or is Natalia getting a little sidelined this season? She is still a member of Horatio's team yet she seems to be stuck doing lab tech duties in the last few episodes (though she does get a couple scenes in the field this episode). But she seems to be the only member of the team who...
I'm glad that Miami is getting a new recurring lab tech. One thing I recently noticed is the fact that except for Valera, the Miami CSIs seem to be doing most of the lab tech duties (Calleigh with ballistics, Eric and fingerprints, Ryan and A/V, and Natalia doing DNA).
I was a little confused Marisol wasn't mentioned (and she was a major character three seasons ago). This suggested to me that she must be the daughter of the man who raised Eric (thus making her his half-sister).
It was bugging me why Linda seemed so familiar. I discovered on imdb that she...
Judging by the fact that Jay will leave the Tonight Show in May 2009, there might not be as much competition over the summer since most shows are on hiatus. However it will be interesting to see what will happen by the fall.
This was probably the most curious scene of the episode (though it was odd we didn't see what Natalia was doing). I hope this is something we'll see more of this season.
What lab techs? With the exception of Valera, the CSIs in the MDPD are often handling the lab rat duties. In fact, Natalia...
